Hot Display Counter Rental

A hot food display keeps cooked food at a safe, appetising serving temperature while putting it front and centre to drive sales at the counter. Rental+ hires the full range of heated display counters, from countertop merchandisers to heated gantries and hot cupboards, on inclusive equipment-as-a-service plans, so you get dependable hot holding with servicing, parts and call-outs built in and no upfront capex.

What is a heated display?

A heated display, or hot food display cabinet, is a powered counter that holds cooked food at a safe serving temperature while showing it to customers. Using gentle radiant or forced heat, often with heated glass, bases and gantries, it keeps pies, pastries, roast meats and hot snacks warm and appetising without drying them out or overcooking them. It is also known as a hot food display counter or food warmer.

Why rent a heated display?

A heated display runs all day at temperature, so its heating elements, glass and controls work hard, and a failure at lunchtime costs you sales at your busiest moment. Renting removes that worry. Every Rental+ plan includes servicing, parts, call-outs and Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) at no extra cost, from our nationwide network of engineers. Our fix-or-replace guarantee means that if a unit cannot be repaired on site, it is replaced, and your counter keeps selling.

There is no upfront capex. You spread the cost over a multi-year plan, typically three to seven years, paid by weekly direct debit, and can add extra units for a seasonal push, a new site or a change of menu without a capital outlay. Choose new or reconditioned “”Used Approved”” equipment from leading brands such as Lincat, each fully quality-checked and maintained to the same standard. With 46 years of experience, we help you specify the right hot-holding format for your menu and your footfall, then keep it serviced for the life of the plan. See how Rental+ plans work.

Choosing the right hot food display

The best format depends on how you sell. Grab-and-go counters selling pies, pasties and sausage rolls lean on countertop merchandisers, where all-round glass and good lighting do the selling. Plated service and canteens need heated gantries and hot cupboards that hold food at temperature while it waits to be served, keeping the pass moving without letting quality slip. Many kitchens run a combination: a merchandiser out front for impulse sales, a hot cupboard behind for volume. Getting the mix right keeps food safe, appetising and moving, and our team can help you match the format to your service style.

Our heated display range

Countertop merchandisers

Glass hot food display cabinets that sit on the counter, ideal for pies, pastries, sausage rolls and hot snacks. With clear all-round visibility and warming shelves, they turn cooked food into an eye-catching display that drives impulse sales in grab-and-go settings.

Heated gantries and overshelves

Heated gantries and pass-through overshelves that hold plated and tray food at temperature during service, keeping the pass moving in busy kitchens, carveries and canteens where timing is everything.

Hot cupboards

Enclosed hot cupboards that hold larger volumes of plated meals and crockery warm below the counter, ideal for banqueting, canteens and care catering where food is prepared ahead and served in waves.

For wet or dry well holding of sauces, vegetables and gravies, see our bain maries; for roast joints and carving service, see our carvery equipment.

Sectors we support

Hot food displays are central to grab-and-go and counter service. We supply bakeries and cafes and delis selling hot pastries and savouries, takeaways and convenience stores running hot food-to-go, canteens and care homes plating at volume, and pubs and bars, hotels and restaurants holding food through service. Whatever the format, an inclusive rental keeps every unit serviced and at temperature so nothing has to come off sale. See how Rental+ plans work or what inclusive maintenance covers.
